Cleveland got a crucial win in Game 2 on Tuesday, avoiding falling 2-0, as they head to New York for the next two games. The split in Cleveland may have not been the best-case scenario at the start, but they earned back the momentum in Game 2. They also found a defensive plan that caused major issues for the Knicks, creating a realistic path to a road victory in Game 3, which would reclaim home-court advantage.
The Knicks started Game 2 in a similar fashion to Game 1, but quickly started to fade on offense, getting continuously stifled by Cleveland’s top-ranked defense. They have the advantage of heading home for the next 2 games, with a chance to take advantage of the Cavs’ 20-21 road record, but they need to figure out a brand new game plan to do so. A loss in games 3 or 4 would be catastrophic for the Knicks’ chances.
