Graham Coughlan has already revealed that this weekend’s clash against United will be the biggest in the club’s history, and the coach will be keen to ensure that his side put in a fitting performance. Newport progressed to the next round of the competition after a replay against National League Eastleigh in the middle of January.

Their class was evident on that day, as they scored twice in the final half an hour to secure this dream tie. The third goal in the success was netted by Will Evans. Newport previously hosted Premier League opposition in 2019, but they were no match for Pep Guardiola’s Man City and fell to a 4-1 loss at Rodney Parade.
