Match Preview
Mauricio Pochettino takes charge of the USA national team for the first time on Saturday evening. The former Tottenham boss will have huge expectations on his shoulders after taking the job with just two years to prepare for a home World Cup in 2026.
The head coach will be restricted in his first match in control after losing a number of key stars to injury. Among those include Folarin Balogun and Timothy Weah, who both pulled out of national team duties following the latest round of European matches.

There will be huge demand on Pochettino to hit the ground running on Saturday, as the USA have stuttered for form throughout the year since winning the CONCACAF Nations League. Since that win over Mexico, the USA have won just once in their last seven internationals.
Panama confidence will be relatively high ahead of this international showdown after winning against the USA during the Copa America in the summer. However, their journey in the South American tournament was ultimately ended in the quarterfinal stage by Colombia. But, their recent form does offer hope, winning two of their last three matches.
