Who Will Win The Most Gold Medals at 2026 Winter Olympics?

Certain nations prioritise success at the Winter Olympics over the summer event. Among those include Norway, which has historically been the most dominant nation at the multi-sport event.

Norway leads the all-time medals table, winning 148 golds, and 405 medals overall. Their dominance continued in 2022, winning 16 golds and 37 medals overall. Johannes Hosflot Klaebo will be among their leading medal hopes in the skiing, while biathletes such as Sturla Holm Laegreid will have their sights set on top prizes.

Germany enjoyed one of its best-ever editions of the Winter Olympics in 2022, winning 12 golds and 27 overall medals. Their leading hopes this winter include Francesco Friedrich (bobsleigh) and Hannah Neise (skeleton).

The USA have also achieved notable success at the Winter Olympics, winning the second-highest tally of overall gold medals. However, the nation only won nine golds in 2022.

Mikael Shiffrin (skiing), Chloe Kim (snowboarding), and Jessie Diggins (Cross-Country Skiing) will be the team’s main hopes. However, Norway looks like the standout bet to achieve the highest tally of golds.
