Men’s FIH Hockey World Cup Winner Picks

The betting for the men’s title is dominated by the two host nations, with Belgium aiming to win their first championship since 2018. As the top-ranked nation in the men’s competition, they will be expected to build on their Sultan Shah Cup success on home turf.

Confidence surrounding their chances only enhanced after winning a first golf medal at the 2020 Olympics. However, it could be their co-hosts that are better suited to the challenges posed by a major tournament.

The Netherlands showed their class when winning the gold at the 2024 Olympics, winning five of their eight matches and scoring an impressive 23 goals. Their consistency should be appreciated, having won two of the last three editions of the European Championships, and finishing as the runners-up in Germany last summer.

Women’s FIH Hockey World Cup Winner Picks

The Women’s FIH Hockey World Cup will be run in unison with the men’s event, and the Netherlands are widely expected to continue their domination in the sport.

The Dutch won the title for the ninth time in the most recent edition, and they are ranked as the best nation in the world. In truth, it would be challenging to overlook their clear claims, as the winners of the last three Olympic titles, as well as the last five European Championships.

There will be USA interest in the Women’s World Cup, as Team USA will be making their tenth appearance at the competition. Their previous best showing came when finishing third in 1994, hopes of a promising showing would have been enhanced after winning three of their four warm-up matches.

However, the USA will have the odds stacked against them after being drawn alongside Argentina and Germany in Pool B.
