After not losing a single game since the start of the preseason and two rounds of UCL qualifiers, Fener was beaten by Genclerbirligi this Saturday on the road, 2-1.
Let’s be straight: this isn’t a big hit on their morale, because the team is focused solely on the UCL qualifiers at this point. Fener already eliminated Sturm Graz and Gornik Zabrze, keeping a clean sheet in three of four matches.
To be perfectly honest, the Kids, as the fans call them, didn’t thrill anyone during the preseason. Lyon had a few wins, but against mediocre teams, yet we saw them lose to Betis in the final test before the season began, 4-0.
