Let’s be honest and admit what many NFL fans have been talking about over the last several weeks: this is one of the weakest NFL OROY races in the last decade.

Ahead of Week 9, you can’t find a single offensive rookie who has had some notable impact on their team, becoming a leader or at least one of the leaders. Unlike DROY odds, where we have two strong favorites that have huge influence on their units, the situation here is different.

If it weren’t for underperforming Cam Ward, who struggles to develop and isn’t showing NFL-ready material, Carnell Tate would almost certainly have much shorter OROY odds. Tate has 34 receptions and 413 receiving yards for a TD. Not special, though, not bad at all. But this all is because of Ward’s incompetence.

If Tate had an average passer, things would be much different. His one-on-one skills are way above an average NFL player, and his confidence is very high as well. But let’s see if he can keep it at that level alongside Ward.

Jonah Coleman +550

The Broncos’ rookie recently got a chance to show his worth after multiple injuries to Denver’s rushing and receiving core. He debuted against the Jags and immediately had a TD, and so far in three appearances, Coleman has 2 scores and 134 rushing yards on 30 carries. Coleman can easily improve his numbers because Denver has no other dual-threat RBs, and his role is much bigger now than before.

Denzel Boston +600

This guy has the biggest share of targets among all the rookies and is behind Tate in total receiving yards, with 409. He doesn’t have any touchdowns, but Boston won 18 first downs, so he is a reliable downfield target in important moments.Now, knowing that the Browns are terrible on the offensive side of the ball, having limited resources, this only shows how good Boston is.
