Event Preview
As the name suggests, the Red Bull Ring will give the reigning constructors’ champions home field advantage at the Austrian Grand Prix. The team needs very little advantage in truth, as they have already landed victories in all eight of the opening races this term. Max Verstappen has landed four straight wins, and his championship advantage stands at 60 points over Sergio Perez.

The Austrian Grand Prix has been a happy hunting ground for Ferrari in recent seasons, as they have won this race on seven previous occasions. However, it could be damning that Verstappen already holds the race-win record, as he has landed three victories alongside Alain Prost and Jo Siffert.

The Red Bull Ring is made up of a total of 4.318km, with a total of 71 laps being completed by the field to make up the race distance of 306.452km. There are three DRS Detection Zones located across the track, meaning that there should be a high number of overtakes in Austria in early July.
Verstappen has won three of the previous five editions of the race, with Charles Leclerc ending his dominant 12 months ago with a shock victory. However, Ferrari looked off the pace in Canada last time out, as Leclerc finished in fourth, with Carlos Sainz taking fifth. Verstappen finished over nine seconds clear of the field in Montreal, with Fernando Alonso taking second after a fascinating battle against Lewis Hamilton.
Austrian Grand Prix Prediction
The Red Bull Ring will be perfectly set up for another dominant weekend for Verstappen. We find it hard to overlook the reigning world champion, but we could see Mercedes and Aston Martin continuing to show that their upgrades are getting them closer to the pace.
