Event Preview

As well as the Arnold Palmer Invitational, there will be an alternative PGA Tour event in the form of the Puerto Rico Open this weekend. This event has been staged since 2008, with the Grand Reserve Country Club seeing the field compete across 7,506 yards to win their share of the $4 million purse.

Rasmus Petersen looks like an obvious starting point for bettors this weekend after his runner-up finish in the event 12 months ago. The Dane has been playing at a consistent level so far this term, finishing a credible four-under to take T40 at the Cognizant Classic last weekend.

Rasmus Hojgaard is another leading Danish contender found at the top of the betting. The 24-year-old should be a confident player after putting together his best competition so far this year when taking T9 at the Champion Course last weekend, finishing just seven shots off the lead.

Michael Brennan and Matt Wallace have also been consistent performers in 2026, and they could enjoy being in this event without many of the world’s top players. Haotong Li also bounced back to form last weekend and should be respected.
