Game Preview
Joel Embiid and the 76ers (0-1) made serious noise after stunning the Boston Celtics in seven games in the first round. However, they are coming off a brutal blowout to the Knicks to start the second round. Embiid won’t be available for Game 2 due to injury, having put up 14 points and four rebounds in the series opener. This places more responsibility on Tyrese Maxey, Paul George and VJ Edgecombe to shoulder the scoring workload.
Jalen Brunson and the Knicks (1-0) are in serious title contention after winning three straight games to close out the Atlanta Hawks in six games in the first round. They continued the win streak by torching the 76ers in Game 1 of the semifinals in historic fashion. Brunson led the attack with 35 points, while OG Anunoby and Karl-Anthony Towns assisted him with 18 and 17 points, respectively.
