Clearly, the wins were the better indicator of Clemson’s ability, as they’ve now toppled red-hot New Mexico followed by upsets over Baylor and Arizona. PJ Hall continues to be a focal point for Clemson.
Alabama managed to defeat 1-seed North Carolina in a very competitive Sweet 16 game. The Crimson Tide ranked closer to a 2-seed in the metrics than the 4-seed they received, allowing them to enter that game with a solid chance of winning. They did just that, competing closely with the Tar Heels before pulling away late.
