Preview

Dayton has stormed to a 16-2 record and #16 ranking in the AP Top 25. After starting the year out 3-2, the Flyers have won 13 consecutive games. They currently project as a 5-seed in the tournament, giving them plenty of cushion before the bubble. They’ll be competing for the outright top spot in the A-10 in this game, against a Richmond team that also holds a 6-0 conference record. Their defense has been superb.

Richmond is knocking on the door of a tournament berth themselves after stringing together 9 straight wins. They’ve turned a mediocre 5-5 start into a solid strength of record at 14-5, but still have work to do. This game against Dayton will be crucial for the Spiders. Not only can they claim the top spot in the A-10, but they’ll also be looking to pick up their first Quadrant 1 win. Their at-large chances need a victory here.

Prediction

This should be a great game between the Atlantic-10’s top 2 teams. Both hold a 6-0 record in conference play and are aiming to make the NCAA Tournament this season. Richmond has the key advantage of being at home, but could still be overwhelmed by an excellent Dayton defense. I’ll take the Flyers to win this one.

NCAAB Picks:

  • Dayton 66, Richmond 63 ()
