It has been a challenging Stanley Cup defense for the Florida Panthers in 2025-26, and they come into this late stage of the season scrapping for their playoff future.
The Panthers currently sit seventh in the Atlantic Division, and they have suffered six defeats in their last ten. A ten-point gap has now been opened up between themselves and the side directly above them in the division standings.
Florida’s poor defensive record was exposed once again over the weekend, as they suffered a 4-1 road loss against the Calgary Flames. However, being back at home could spark a response, as the Panthers have gone 18-14-3 in home games this term.
Pressure will be mounting on the Seattle Kraken this week, as they bid to snap a three-game losing run. Seattle have suffered seven regulation time losses in their previous ten, leaving them sitting fifth in the Pacific Division.
A third straight loss was suffered on Saturday, as they were beaten 5-2 by the Columbus Blue Jackets. Playing on the road hasn’t suited them as well as playing at the Climate Pledge Arena, reflected by the fact that the Kraken have gone 14-13-4 on their travels.
