It has been a red-hot period in the NHL season for the Dallas Stars, as they have closed the gap on the Colorado Avalanche in the Central Division standings ahead of the mouth-watering clash between the teams later this week.
Dallas has been electric on either side of the Olympic break, racking up eight straight wins. No side in the NHL is currently on a longer winning streak than the Stars.
They showed their character last time out to land an overtime success against the Nashville Predators, with Jason Robertson, Wyatt Johnston, and Nathan Bastian scoring the goals.
It has been a contrasting period for the Vancouver Canucks, as the Canadian team remain at the foot of the Pacific Division. They have suffered defeats in each of their last five, while no side in the Western Conference have allowed more goals so far this term.
Vancouver’s defensive record has been alarming since returning to action, allowing 20 goals in their last five. Being at home isn’t likely to give them much of an advantage, as the Canucks have gone 6-17-5 at Rogers Place in 2025-26.
