Fight Preview

There are few more exciting boxers on the planet than Dmitry Bivol, meaning that it is little surprise that he is among the superstar names on a huge night of boxing action in Saudi Arabia. Bivol has been the reigning WBA light heavyweight champion since November 2017 after scoring a stunning first-round stoppage win against Trend Broadhurst.

The reigning champion has dominated the division throughout his career, having won all 21 of his professional bouts. A total of eleven of his wins have come by knockout, with ten successes coming by decision. It will be a long-awaited return to the ring for Bivol, as he was last in action when beating Gilberto Ramirez by unanimous decision in November 2022.

Lyndon Arthur will be the massive outsider in the betting for this WBA title showdown. The British boxer is a former Commonwealth light heavyweight champion, having held the gold between 2019 and 2021. He has won 23 of his 24 professional bouts, and he was in stunning form earlier this year when capturing the IBO light heavyweight title after a KO win against Braian Nahuel Suarez.

However, this will be a return to the top table for the British star, and it could be argued that it is his biggest fight since suffering a fourth-round loss against Anthony Yarde in December 2021. But, he could have the power to pose serious questions to the defending champion in Saudi Arabia.

Dmitry Bivol vs Lyndon Arthur Prediction

This could be a mismatch based on the odds available. Bivol has beaten some of the biggest stars in the world, including Canelo Alvarez and Ramirez. We expect his light heavyweight dominance to continue in Riyadh, as we could see him scoring a stoppage victory.
