Race Preview
The season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will be staged in F1 this weekend, as drivers compete over a distance of 306.183 km in the United Arab Emirates. It has traditionally been a dramatic contest, with none more so than Max Verstappenâs controversial last-lap win over Lewis Hamilton to determine the 2021 championship.
All the drama this weekend will surround the Constructorsâ Championship, with McLaren aiming for their first team honor since 1998. McLaren lead the chase by 21 points, but there could still be drama ahead with 44 points up for grabs this weekend.
However, the odds will be stacked against Ferrari, who will need both drivers to finish in the first two positions, and hope that one McLaren fails to finish the Grand Prix.

This weekend, a number of drivers will also make their final appearances for their respective teams. Carlos Sainz departs Ferrari following their weekend, while Kevin Magnussen, Sergio Perez, and Valtteri Bottas face uncertain F1 futures.
However, all eyes will be on Lewis Hamilton, who makes his final start in a Mercedes ahead of a winter move to Ferrari. Regarded by many as the greatest F1 driver of all time, Hamilton has won six Driversâ Championships during his time with the team during a golden age for Mercedes.
Sixth-spot in the Constructorsâ will also be determined this weekend, with Alpine holding a five-point advantage over Haas after memorable finishes in the last two races.
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Picks
It was damage limitation for Ferrari last weekend, but they will need to attack from the first corner in Abu Dhabi. The circuit should favor their car, meaning Charles Leclerc is favored to do his job and take the win in the final race of the season.
