Event Preview
The standout event on the golf schedule this weekend is set for the Evian Resort Golf Club in France, as the fourth major of the women’s season is staged in the form of the Evian Championship. The field will compete across 6,479 yards at the par 71 competition, with a purse of $9.1 million up for grabs.
Nelly Korda will be a red-hot contender after bouncing back to her very best form in 2026, winning on four occasions on the LPGA Tour. She has oozed class in the majors, winning both the Chevron Championship and the U.S. Women’s Open.
Jeeno Thitkul will be one of the notable dangers. The 23-year-old is a two-time winner on the Tour this season, notably landing the Americas Open by a four-shot margin. She was beaten in a playoff at the Evian Championship 12 months ago, and has claimed top-ten finishes on four of her last five starts at the major.
Haeran Ryu and Gaby Lopez should also be respected this weekend. The latter is yet to win on the tour since 2022, but she has produced some strong efforts in the majors so far in 2026. The Mexican has finished in the top 12 on her three major starts this year, and has finished in the top ten on two of her last three Evian Championship bids.
Evian Championship Picks
Charley Hull looks like an overpriced contender this weekend. The English star won the Saudi Ladies International earlier this year, and has finished in the top ten in two of the three majors so far in 2026. She certainly knows what it takes to compete at the Evian Championship, having finished T3 back in 2022.
