The Open: Picks to Finish in the Top 10

By · Updated 3 minutes ago

All of the attention on the PGA Tour this weekend will be on the final major of the season, as Royal Birkdale hosts the British Open Championship for the first time since 2017. All eyes will be on the players competing to win The Open, but there could be excellent value when it comes to making picks on players to finish in the top 10. You can find a selection of our standout picks in the market here.

The Open Picks: Top 10 Finish

Justin Rose

Justin Rose’s emergence on the global stage came at The Open back in 1998, finishing a stunning T4 as an 18-year-old at Royal Birkdale. His course record is staggering, and his form this term suggests that a return to one of his favorite courses could suit his chances.

Rose has already finished in the top ten at The Masters and the PGA Championship in 2026, while he was T11 at the U.S. Open. In fact, he has placed in at least the top ten in six of his last eight major appearances when making the cut.

Shane Lowry

Shane Lowry memorably won The Open Championship back in 2019, and his prowess on links courses should be respected this weekend. The Irishman has made the cut on four of his last five starts at the major, and he has been consistent throughout this season without getting a win on the board.

Lowry has made the cut in eleven of his 16 starts in 2026, and has put together six top-25 finishes and two top-ten finishes. A bounceback is required after failing to make the cut at last weekend’s Scottish Open.

Jordan Smith

Jordan Smith looks like one of the interesting outsiders to finish in the top 10 when making picks this weekend. The Englishman is a seven-time winner since turning professional, and he has typically saved his best major performances for his home event.

Smith has made the cut on three of his last four starts at The Open, and his results on the PGA Tour have gone under the radar this term. He has made the cut on eleven of his 17 starts, and has achieved six top-25 finishes. His recent form is a major strength, having finished T21 at the Scottish Open and T13 at the Charles Schwab Challenge.
