WWT Championship Preview: Players to Watch at El Cardonal
The WWT Championship is played at El Cardonal, the first course Tiger Woods designed, and with no runaway favorite, this looks like a wide-open week.
Ben Griffin
Griffin is one of the leading contenders after winning here 12 months ago with a tournament-record 29 under par. His good form in Mexico continued last week, too, as he finished tied for fourth at the Mexico Championship, just six shots off the lead.
Ryan Gerard
Gerard has been one of the busiest players on the PGA Tour, and he hasn’t missed an event since finishing third at the Tour Championship. He even skipped this week’s DP World Tour event in Abu Dhabi to be here. He finished T4 at the Baycurrent Classic and T14 at this event last year, so he has to be respected.
Ben James and Ben Kohles
James missed the cut in Bermuda but was back in form last week, finishing T16 at the Mexico Championship. Kohles has been relentless this season, finishing inside the top 20 in each of his last four starts.
Jackson Koivun and Seamus Power
Koivun has been near the top of the betting for each of his last five starts, and the American should be primed for another strong week after finishing T5 at the Biltmore Championship. Power returns for the first time since losing in a playoff in Bermuda.

WWT Championship Picks and Golf Betting Tips
This looks like a wide-open event, and that’s exactly where a big price can pay off. Steven Fisk is an eye-catching angle at +5000. The ISCO Championship winner has made the cut in all four FedEx Cup Fall events so far, and he’ll take plenty of confidence from his T2 at the Mexico Championship last week.
For a safer approach, Jordan Smith is worth backing for a top 10 finish at +350, and Blades Brown for a top 20 at +150.
- Best bet: Steven Fisk to win (+5000)
- Top 10 pick: Jordan Smith top 10 finish (+350)
- Top 20 pick: Blades Brown top 20 finish (+150)
