Preview
Miami continued their impressive season, surging past the Jets, and improving to 8-3 on the year. They now hold a 2.5 game lead in the AFC East division. Miami is a few weeks away from closing in on their first division title since 2008. Their offense heated back up last week with WRs Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle combining to haul in 17 receptions for 216 yards, though QB Tua Tagovailoa also threw two interceptions.
The Commanders continued to slide, losing their 3rd straight game. They’ve now lost 8 of the last 10, after starting out 2-0. Washington has really struggled against NFC East opponents. They currently hold an 0-5 record against them, and were outscored 162-98 in those games. They still have a minor chance to make the playoffs, but can’t take any more defeats. The Commanders need to improve on both sides of the ball.
Prediction
Washington has pulled off a couple of surprise upsets, and cannot be counted out at home. That being said, I would be surprised if they win this game. They’re 2-8 since mid-September, and face a Dolphins team that should be able to exploit their lackluster defense. I’ll take the Dolphins to win this one easily.
