Game Preview
Real was better than Las Palmas this weekend at home. They’ve beat the rivals from the Canary Islands, 4-1, though, with three canceled goals for various reasons. After a long time, they looked good, and this win, combined with the fact that other La Liga rivals slipped, made them reclaim the top spot in the domestic league.
Real scored nine goals at home in the last two games. Prior to Las Palmas, they defeated Celta in Copa del Rey, 5-2. However, it was 2-2 after regular 90 minutes.
Salzburg played club-friendly games over the last two weeks because their Austrian championship still hasn’t started. The boys from Mozzart’s city disappointed in both events. First, they lost to Bayern Munich 0-6 and then to Midtjylland 3-2.
Overall, the Austrian powerhouse is far weaker than in previous years, and that’s noticeable in both the UCL and the domestic competitions. Yet, the high efficiency of their games is still present, as the past six saw three or more hits.
