Pick rationale
Analysis & key factors
At no modern sporting event have the worlds of high-level sport and politics been as closely intertwined as this summer’s World Cup.
Political statements have been made throughout the summer, including most recently following Argentina’s win over England when the South Americans unveiled a banner mentioning the Falkland Islands.
Donald Trump has been a recurring theme throughout the tournament, using his power to get Folarin Balogun’s red card overturned for the match against Belgium, something we have never seen before in a World Cup.
BetOnline has priced up a number of specials ahead of the World Cup Final, focusing on the President, and you can find the Donald Trump World Cup odds here.

Donald Trump World Cup Final Specials Picks
The White House has already confirmed that Donald Trump will be in attendance for this weekend’s World Cup Final, which is unsurprising given the nature of his relationship with the sitting FIFA President, Gianni Infantino.
Their relationship has been questioned throughout the summer, with Infantino likely to face calls surrounding the nature of it following this summer after a complaint has been made to the IOC.
Infantino has already confirmed that Trump will hand over the illustrious honor to the winning team on Sunday, something that the President also did last summer when Chelsea won the FIFA Club World Cup. Therefore, Trump being the first to touch the World Cup on Sunday is an eye-catching selection at the odds available.
It is also worth noting that a majority of the European crowd throughout last summer’s Club World Cup Final booed Trump. History is expected to repeat itself with Americans likely to be out-populated by South Americans and Spanish fans this weekend.
Throughout the build-up to the World Cup, Trump has been actively referring to ‘soccer’ as ‘football’. He even stated that the NFL should be renamed because the sport is not the main version of football. Therefore, the President calling the sport by its more natural name is a good bet when assessing the Donald Trump World Cup odds.
