The pressure was eased on Arne Slot on Wednesday evening, as Liverpool landed a hard-fought 1-0 away win at Sunderland. That victory keeps the Reds within striking distance of the Champions League spots, but this weekend, their focus switches to the FA Cup.
The FA Cup is likely Liverpool’s best chance of silverware in 2025-26, but they have only reached the fifth round in two of the last five seasons.
Slot’s side showed their class in the previous round, beating Barnsley 4-1 at Anfield. It could also be worth noting that the Reds have won 54% of their home games this term, scoring 1.62 goals per game.
While the pressure has eased on Slot, it is a different story for Fabian Hurzeler at Brighton. The team’s form has been poor in recent weeks, with Wednesday’s 1-0 loss at Aston Villa dragging them closer toward the relegation places.
