England have been one of the standout nations throughout EURO qualification to this point, and the Three Lions look on course to secure their passage through to the major tournament next week. Gareth Southgate’s side are unbeaten this calendar year since exiting the World Cup at the quarterfinal stage against France in Qatar.

Australia enjoyed a solid 2022 World Cup, as they defied expectations to reach the round of 16 before falling to eventual winners Argentina. Since that defeat, the Aussies have won just once in four international matches, and they have gone two without a victory.

They were most recently in action last month, as they played out a thrilling 2-2 draw against Mexico on the road. However, Australia should have won that clash in North America, as they found themselves 2-0 up after the hour mark after efforts from Harry Souttar and Martin Boyle. Defensively, there remains questions ahead of this international friendly.
