Game Preview
According to Transfermarkt, Queretaro FC is the least valuable team of the Mexican Liga MX with roughly $25M being the value of its entire squad. In comparison, the roster of the New England Revolution is worth twice as much.
Despite not being one of the greats of Mexican soccer, Los Gallos Blancos (a.k.a. The White Roosters) now find themselves in the Leagues Cup quarterfinal. They got here after going 1-1 in the group stage – Philadelphia Union destroyed them 5-1, but they then defeated Club Tijuana 1-0 in the second round.

In the first stage of the playoffs, Queretaro defeated UNAM Pumas 1-0 even though they were the inferior side throughout the match. One may say they were lucky in that game, but will luck follow them on Sunday?
Well, they can count themselves lucky for facing the New England Revolution at a time when chaos is happening in the club. The team coach Bruce Arena recently got suspended by the MLS, while the Revolution’s first-choice goalie Djordje Petrovic is reportedly angry with the management for not letting him move to the Premier League.
Queretaro vs. New England Revolution Prediction
The New England Revolution got to this stage of the Leagues Cup after beating Atlas on penalties in a somewhat controversial game in which the ref was perhaps too lenient with its players. In simple terms, the Revolution did not impress.
And we don’t think The Revs will impress on Sunday either. We think this is going to be a snooze fest in which both teams will look to defend rather than try and score. As a result, the game-winner will probably be decided by a penalty shootout.
