Inter Miami and Toronto FC are the two bottom-placed teams in the Eastern Conference. The Herons are in a much better position than their Canadian rivals who would need a miracle to get to the playoffs. Inter Miami, on the other hand, still has a pretty good chance of getting there.
These guys have played two games fewer than the closest team from the relegation zone, DC United, with seven points fewer than the boys from the capital. Plus, there are seven games left for Inter Miami to play in the MLS before the end of the regular season.
In simple terms, this means that if the Herons get back to their winning ways, they should be fine. Obviously, with Messi on the pitch, they look capable of beating any opponent in the MLS and beyond. However, the Argentine superstar is apparently struggling with a muscle injury, which is why he wasn’t there to save the day for his team against Atlanta United.

With or without Messi, Inter Miami is a better team than Toronto FC. The Herons are motivated to win as they’re in need of points. Further, they’re playing on their turf on Wednesday. Knowing all this, it’s only logical to assume the hosts will win this game.
