Event Preview
The Bermuda Championship has been an exciting event on the PGA Tour since its inception in 2019, with some of the top stars in the world competing across 6,828 yards at Port Royal Golf Course. A purse of $6 million will be up for grabs this weekend, with a number of former champions all in contention to repeat previous victories.
Among the former champions that are hoping to win the Bermuda Championship for a second time is Seamus Power. The Irishman landed the spoils in 2022, and his record at Port Royal is exceptional, making the cut on all six appearances and racking up four top-25 finishes. His recent form is also eye-catching, finishing T21 at the Black Desert Championship and T7 at the Biltmore Championship.
Ben James is a deserving favorite for the event this weekend. The American has quickly made an impression on the world stage, which has seen him climb to 62nd in the FedEx Cup. While he is yet to win on the PGA Tour, his recent form is incredible, finishing T5 at the Black Desert Championship to go along with a recent solo second, third and T4 finish.
Ben Kohels should also be in contention based on his recent form. He has finished in the top 20 in each of his last three appearances, and leads the PGA Tour for fairways and greens hit. Andrew Novak’s previous experience at Port Royal also deserves attention, having finished as the runner-up at the course in 2024. Looks back on song after recent T7 and T17 finishes.
Bermuda Championship Picks
Austin Smotherman could be a very interesting angle to consider when making Bermuda Championship picks. The American was the winner of the Bank of Utah Championship in early October, following up impressively after finishing T17 at the Biltmore Championship and T24 at the 3M Open. Interestingly, the greens at the Bank of Utah Championship are similar in size to this weekend’s, meaning that the stage is set for another bold showing.
