However, Patrick Cantlay showcased his best form when finishing third in the RBC Heritage last month, and the 31-year-old isn’t without his chance this weekend. He has made the cut in each of his previous five appearances, and has finished in the top ten on three occasions.

Max Homa may not be in the best form this year, but he has claimed two previous victories at the Wells Fargo Championship. He finished two shots clear of Cameron Young, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Keegan Bradley last year, and could present excellent value at +3000 this weekend.

McIlroy certainly ticks all the boxes for this event on the PGA Tour. However, a chance will be taken on another player with previous experience in North Carolina. Cameron Young finished second in the event 12 months ago, and could have an excellent chance after finishing in the top ten in two of his previous five appearances.
