Event Preview

The Rugby World Cup is the pinnacle competition on the international calendar, with the tournament taking place every four years. This year’s edition of the competition will be the tenth time that it has been held, with only four nations having landed victory. New Zealand and reigning champions South Africa are the most successful teams with three wins apiece, while Australia has won the World Cup twice, and England have landed glory once.

South Africa are the defending champions following their dramatic win over England in 2019. The nations also has an excellent record in the World Cup, as they have reached at least the semi-finals in each of the previous two editions, and two finals in the last four. However, the group stages could be challenging, as they will play against both Scotland and Ireland.

New Zealand are hard to dismiss, as they are the most successful nation in the history of the tournament. The All Blacks are the third-highest-ranked side in the world, and they have won six of their previous seven tests. England was the only nation to stop the All Blacks, but Steve Borthwick’s side look a massive outsider after a poor Six Nations campaign.

We believe that a European side will claim victory this summer, and Ireland could be challenging to overlook. The Irish landed Grand Slam glory in the Six Nations earlier this year, and will face competitive challenges from the opening days of the World Cup against South Africa and Scotland in Group B. France’s long winning run was ended in the Six Nations, as they were unable to win back-to-back Grand Slam Six Nations titles.

However, there was a lot of experimenting throughout the tournament, with the World Cup being the big goal. The French kick off the tournament with a mouth-watering clash against New Zealand.

Rugby World Cup Prediction

Ireland has never reached the final four of the World Cup, but this could be their best-ever chance of achieving that feat. The Irish were excellent throughout the Six Nations, and they are one of the few nations coming into this tournament with excellent momentum behind them. They appear to be the value play in France.
