An all-Premier League clash will take place in the FA Cup third round on Thursday, as Crystal Palace welcome Everton to Selhurst Park. The Eagles have a poor record in the competition against the Toffees, having won just two of the previous six cup ties between the sides. However, they were 4-0 winners in the previous clash between the sides in the FA Cup.

Everton will be hopeful of repeating their performance against the Eagles from earlier in the season after landing a 3-2 win in the Premier League in London. However, the Toffees haven’t claimed two straight away wins against the same opponent in the same season since beating West Ham on two occasions in the 2007-08 season.

Palace have struggled to build momentum in the FA Cup throughout recent history, having exited the competition in the third round in three of the last four seasons. The only exception to that rule came in the 2021-22 season, as the Eagles reached the last four of the competition before losing at Wembley.

Meanwhile, Everton also have a poor record against fellow Premier League sides in the FA Cup, losing seven of their last nine. That includes defeats in each of their last four away from home during that period. The Toffees are also winless in their last 12 FA Cup fixtures that have been played in London since beating Man United in the 1995 final.
