Match Preview
The first of three European finals over the next ten days will be staged in Dublin, as Bayer Leverkusen look to add Europa League glory to their Bundesliga title. This will be the third time that these sides will collide in a European competition, with Atalanta winning both home and away ties against their German rivals in the 2021-22 edition of the Europa League.
It will be the eighth time that clubs from Italy and Germany have collided in a European final, and it is the first final since Inter Milan’s 2-0 Champions League win against Bayern Munich in 2010. Leverkusen will be playing in their third European final, with their only success coming in the UEFA Cup in 1988.

Atalanta will be playing in their first ever European final this week, and they will become the eleventh different Italian team to compete in a showpiece match. However, they will be outsiders in the betting despite beating Liverpool and Marseille on their way to the final in Dublin.
Leverkusen’s dominant form throughout the season has made international headlines. They are without a defeat across all competitive matches this term, and they have won nine of their 12 matches in the Europa League. Victory on Wednesday would see them become the fourth team to win the competition without suffering a loss.
