England’s hopes of ending their long wait for a major international honor kick off in Germany on Sunday, as the Three Lions look to get off to a winning start when they take on Serbia. Gareth Southgate has led his nation to a final and one semi-final in recent major tournaments, but a first success since 1966 still eludes the nation.

However, this could be the summer to end that long wait, with Southgate able to call upon a wealth of attacking talent. Harry Kane will be a key star for England, while Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham also boast world-class talent in the final third. But, the Three Lions will need to bounce back from a disappointing outing in their final warm-up match after losing against Iceland.

Serbia will be playing at their first EUROs since 2000 this summer, and they could be a nation that is set to upset the odds. They have twice finished as runners-up in the tournament, and they have made it out of the group stage in all but one of their five appearances at the EUROs.

They come into the tournament in reliable recent form after winning two of their last three internationals.
