Fight Preview
Alex Pereira’s odds of -160 suggest that he’s likely to defend his title. It’s no surprise given that he’s got a very impressive MMA portfolio. He’s 10-2 overall with one of his losses happening on his professional debut.
The other one happened in the UFC Middleweight title fight against Israel Adesanya. After that fight, he moved to the UFC Light Heavyweight where he’s 3-0 now. However, there’s a caveat for each of his three wins in the 205lb division.
On his divisional debut, he beat Jan Blachowicz by a split decision, after which he was given a shot at the title.
He fought and defeated Jiri Prochazka who fought his first fight after a horrible shoulder injury for which he had to vacate the title in the first place.
In his most recent fight, Pereira defeated another former champ, Jamahal Hill, who too had to vacate the title after suffering an injury. Hill looked really out of shape ahead of that fight, so it’s really no surprise that Poatan beat him easily.
But now, he’s supposed to fight Prochazka who’s in top shape. The Czech Samurai is coming off a fantastic performance against Aleksandar Rakic, which saw him win the Performance of the Night bonus.

Sure, Pereira is a hell of a striker. He’s probably much better when it comes to kickboxing than Prochazka, but the Czech fighter is a tough guy with plenty of weapons in his arsenal.
Plus, Prochazka is determined to get his revenge and return his championship belt. The UFC 303 odds favor Pereira, but in our eyes, Prochazka is the favorite.
