The German has enjoyed a welcome return to form this season, and he pushed Jannik Sinner close in his latest group stage game. However, he was made to rue missed opportunities after failing to convert from seven break point chances.
Auger-Aliassime will fancy his chances of stealing the second qualifying spot in the group on the final day of play before the knockout stages get underway. The Canadian lost against Sinner in his opening match, but he showed excellent character to battle to a win over Ben Shelton on Wednesday.
