Two of the most dominant teams in England in recent years collide in a Super Sunday clash at Anfield.
There will be increased pressure on both sides, with Man City desperately needing to rediscover their consistency to close the gap on Arsenal at the summit. Last weekend’s 2-2 draw was a sign of their standards dropping, as Pep Guardiola’s side threw away a 2-0 advantage.
Liverpool will also be looking to reignite their hope of a Champions League finish, but the pressure was eased on Arne Slot following an excellent 4-1 win over Newcastle.
Man City have excelled in away matches against reigning champions, winning five of their last six. In fact, only Liverpool and Man United have recorded more wins on the road against current champions.
Liverpool’s form has actually been fairly solid in recent games, with no team having lost fewer fixtures since MD13. However, their drop in the standings is due to the Reds drawing six of their last 12.
