Pick rationale
Analysis & key factors
- The Dolphins came up short against the Chiefs on Sunday, in a game they lost 24-10.
- Minnesota improved to 3-0 following a 23-16 victory over the Buccaneers on the road.
- These two teams last met on October 16, 2022, in a game that the Vikings won 24-16.
- Miami Dolphins +11.0
In this week’s Dolphins vs Vikings matchup, the 0-3 Dolphins are seeking to avoid a catastrophic start. They face an uphill battle against the 3-0 Vikings on the road, hoping that QB Malik Willis will have a breakout game. The Vikings enter favored by 11 points.
Dolphins and Willis Seeking Improvement
The Dolphins have had a rough start to the season, entering Week 4 with an 0-3 record. It’s been tough sledding for new QB Malik Willis, who ranks 27th in the league in QBR through his first three games. Unfortunately, Willis doesn’t have much to work with, with both Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle no longer among the targets to throw to. A torn ACL to star RB De’Von Achane has only worsened their outlook, as they stare 0-4 in the face this week.

Vikings Look to Maintain Hot Start
Minnesota is off to a 3-0 start, despite subpar play from new QB Kyler Murray. They officially made the decision to move on from 2024 1st-round pick J.J. McCarthy this week, trading him to the Giants in exchange for a fifth round selection in 2027. The Vikings have done all the little things well, avoiding turnovers and penalties and playing a consistent and balanced offensive game. They’ll be aiming to improve to 4-0 this week.

Dolphins vs Vikings NFL Pick
The Vikings are 3-0 and face off against the 0-3 Dolphins in Minnesota, causing the spread for this game to inflate. That being said, I would be wary about betting on them winning by enough to cover. Miami may be down most of its offensive assets, but their defense looked improved in Week 3 and Willis remains a dual-threat capable of making his own production. Minnesota may also lack the urgency to come out red-hot. Expect them to win, but not by double digits.
