NFL Vegas Odds
Compare pregame NFL lines across supported sportsbooks.
The most popular form of NFL betting is simply placing a wager on games. NFL Vegas Odds are usually released a few days before each game and will regularly change. During the season, you can find the latest NFL Vegas Odds below.
The Week 9 opens in Baltimore where Ravens meet the Jaguars. Jags are massive favorites, as their rivals can’t count on Lamar Jackson. After that, on Saturday we have the first NFL game in Spain, where Cincinnati Bengals meet the Atlanta Falcons. Later that day, the Jets and the Chiefs meet in Kansas City, while Browns face the Saints in New Orleans. It’ll be interesting to see the Packers on the road against New England, as well as the Broncos vs. Panthers matchup.
Sunday Night is reserved for the Buccaneers vs. Bears game at Soldier Field, and Monday Night Football takes place in Minneapolis where two 6-1 units play – Bills and Vikings.
When it comes to NFL Vegas Odds, you’ll find three popular options for each game: Moneyline, Spread, and over/under betting.
NFL Moneyline Explained
Moneyline betting is a form of NFL betting that allows you to bet on the outcome of a game. To win the bet, all you need to do is select which team will win the game. The favorite is the team that is expected to win and is indicated by a minus sign (-). The underdog is the team that is expected to lose and is indicated by a plus sign (+).
Most sportsbooks include overtime in their moneyline markets so you still win the bet if your team wins in OT. In the event of a tie, most sportsbooks will classify the bet as a “push” and your wager amount will be returned to you.
How to Read a Point Spread (NFL)
NFL Spread betting is the most popular form of betting on NFL games. The point spread is a handicap placed on the favorite team. This to even the playing field and make the bettingmore even. The point spread is the number of points that the sportsbook expects the favorite to win the game by.
For example, if the New England Patriots were favored to win against the New York Jets by 2.5 points, the bettor can choose one of two options. If they place a wager on the Patriots, the bet will only be successful if the Pats win the game by three points or more. If they bet on the Jets, the bet can be successful in two ways – either the Jets win the game, or they lose by two points or fewer.
The handicap is designed to create something close to a level playing field so the odds will be identical or very similar for both selections. The point spread will usually include half a point. This is called a “hook” and is designed to ensure there is no push.
How Does Over/Under Work in NFL Betting
Over/under NFL betting is a form of sports betting where you wager on the total number of points that will be scored in a given NFL game, and can also be known as a “totals” bet. The sportsbook will offer an over/under line which is the number of points they expect to be scored in the game, and you can wager on the combined number of points being greater or fewer than that total.
For example, if the over/under line is 45.5 points. You can place a wager on there being 45 points or fewer in the game by selecting the “under”, or you can place a wager on the “over” which would require 46 points or more to be scored in the game.
Remember, over/under betting is the number of points scored by both teams in the game.
NFL Player Props + Team Props
NFL prop betting is a form of sports betting that involves wagering on the outcome of specific plays or events that take place during a game. This type of bet can cover anything from individual player performances to the first team to score in a game
Every sportsbook now offers prop markets for most games. A great chance to use your football knowledge to make money beyond the traditional game betting methods.
