Event Preview
One of the standout races on the F1 calendar takes place this weekend, as Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace will host the Brazilian Grand Prix. This race was first staged in 1972, and it has taken place at the current track since 1990. It is a race that is among the most challenging of the season, with elevation changes and rough surface areas evident throughout the 4.309km lap.
Alain Prost holds the record for most victories at the Brazilian Grand Prix with six wins, while McLaren is the most successful team with 12 victories. Mercedes have enjoyed the recent races at Interlagos, with George Russell landing victory from Lewis Hamilton in 2022.

Hopes upended đź’Ą
— Formula 1 (@F1) October 30, 2023
Sergio Perez's dramatic clash with Charles Leclerc on the opening lap ended any dreams of a win in the Mexican's home race #F1 #MexicoGP pic.twitter.com/TjAasH2AGM
Max Verstappen’s advantage at the top of the Drivers’ Standings was extended last weekend, as the Dutchman landed a fourth win on the bounce in Mexico. However, it was a weekend to forget for hometown hero Sergio Perez, as the Mexican was forced into an opening lap retirement following a collision with Charles Leclerc. That, coupled with Hamilton’s second place finish means that just 20 points separate the two drivers in the battle for second in the Drivers’ Standings.
The standout performer in Mexico was Lando Norris, as he recovered from 17th to finish fifth. That result saw the British driver rise to sixth in the standings, and he could put more pressure on Fernando Alonso this weekend, as the Aston Martin driver endured another weekend to forget in Mexico.
Brazilian Grand Prix Prediction
It is clear to see that the Mercedes upgrades have had a huge impact on the team’s performance, and it could be worth siding with the team landing another victory in Brazil this weekend. Therefore, the preference is for Hamilton to land a first race win since 2021.
