Event Preview
For the second straight Sunday, it is a race week in Formula 1. Fans will be set for an exciting race if last weekend’s Dutch Grand Prix is anything to go by. A dramatic race last weekend saw drivers battle with the elements, as a rain delay in the final stages meant that the action was neutralized, before Max Verstappen stormed clear to land a ninth straight win.

The Italian Grand Prix has been staged since 1921, with Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton tied for the most race wins with five. However, Ferrari is the leading constructor in the history of the race after winning on 20 previous occasions. However, Charles Leclerc was unable to extend that record despite starting on pole 12 months ago, as he finished over two seconds behind Max Verstappen.

Red Bull remains on course to win every race on the schedule this season, and Verstappen’s dominance means that it could be extremely challenging to overlook the reigning world champion. Sergio Perez would have been disappointed with his performance last weekend, as the Mexican eventually finished fourth overall, with Pierre Gasley achieving a first podium in third since 2021.

Aston Martin was resurgent in the Netherlands, with Fernando Alonso landing second in the race. That result strengthened his position in third in the standings, with Lewis Hamilton battling back from low on the grid to finish sixth overall. McLaren once again was competitive, with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri both finishing inside the top ten.
Italian Grand Prix Prediction
Verstappen looks extremely challenging to overlook this weekend. Mercedes are due a strong weekend, as Monza is typically a track where they excel. Therefore, a chance will be taken on Lewis Hamilton to achieve a podium finish.
