Event Preview

The next stop on the European Tour will see the BMW PGA Championship staged this weekend. This event has been staged since 1955, and is now competed in September after being moved from its initial position of the Spring Bank Holiday weekend in the United Kingdom.

Rory McIlroy is the favorite to land a second victory at the event this weekend, but there would still be questions surrounding the back injury that he sustained a few weeks ago. The star finished second in the event 12 months ago. Shane Lowry was the winner of the BMW PGA Championship in 2022, and positives would have been taken from his fightback at the Irish Open last weekend.

Viktor Hovland makes a very obvious claim this weekend, as the Norwegian couldn’t be in any better form. The 25-year-old has won on each of his previous two appearances, which included a stunning performance at the Tour Championship at the end of August.
