Many will be scared to rule out the legendary player, as he upset the odds back in 2019, when he landed a two-shot victory in one of the greatest sporting comeback stories in history.

Can Woods Make History?

It’s very rare that we get to see Tiger Woods in action these days, which makes it even more special when he is on the green. Woods will be aiming for a historic sixth victory at The Masters this year, but he is a massive outsider to achieve that target. Since winning the major in 2019, he finished in a tie for 38^th in 2020, before finishing 47^th on the leaderboard in 2022.

We would expect him to make the cut at The Masters, as he has never failed to achieve that target since 1996. However, a top ten, or 20 finish may be slightly harder to achieve, given the talent that will be on display at Augusta this weekend.

There would be certain value in siding with Woods to finish under 44.5 in the standings, as he has finished higher than 45^th on just one previous occasion. However, that did come at The Masters in 2022.

Woods has already followed his same pre-tournament routine leading up to The Masters, as he played alongside McIlroy and Fred Couples over the weekend. But, while we would love to see a historic sixth victory for the legendary American, it remains hugely unlikely. Our safest play would see us side with his finishing position being under 44.5.
