The Players Championship brings real drama with its playoff format. In case of a tie after 72 holes at the end of the competition, the players head to a three-hole aggregate playoff. Apart from the PGA Championship, this is the only tournament on the Tour that implements this format.
The three holes involved in the playoff are par-5 16th, par-3 17th, and par-4 18th. If the winner isn’t decided after a three-hole aggregate, the remaining players go to sudden death and move to the 17th (then 18th, 16th, 17th, and back to the 18th hole, until the winner is decided).

2020 Players Championship
