Game Preview
Los Angeles returned to .500 on Monday, after falling to 7-8 following a 2-5 record last week. They’ve once again started to slide after starting the season hot, continuing to follow the same pattern. Their schedule eases up soon with 7 upcoming home games against the 3-13 Athletics and 4-12 Royals, but they must first get past the Yankees. New SS Gio Urshela (.327 BA) will seek to defeat his former team.

The Yankees bounced back against the Twins on Sunday, winning 2-0 to split the 4-game series, after losing the first two games. New York sits in a tie for 2nd-place in the entire AL conference, but still remains 4 games out of first place in a brutal AL East division. They’ll aim to build some momentum over the next few weeks before facing the 1st place Rays head-to-head. The Yankees need more consistent pitching.

Prediction
This is a very difficult game to predict. Both teams have strong batting lineups, and will be facing starting pitchers that have been struggling so far this season. The Angels will start Jose Suarez (10.80 ERA), while the Yankees are starting Clark Schmidt (8.44 ERA). This all indicates a high-scoring game that could go in either team’s favor. Overall, I trust Aaron Judge and the Yankees batting lineup more, especially at home.
