Game Preview
Texas salvaged their series against the Orioles with a 5-2 win in game 3, avoiding the sweep. They opened the season scorching hot, outscoring the Phillies 27-10 in their first two games. Since then, they’ve cooled off a bit, being outscored 12-9 in a 2-2 span. The Rangers head on the road for the first time this season to face the Cubs. They start the series off with Nathan Eovaldi on the mound, who struggled in his first start.

The Cubs scored 12 runs in their win over the Reds on Tuesday, before having their next game postponed. They’ll now get to enjoy returning home to Chicago with 2 days rest, as they prepare to face the White Sox. The Cubs will hope to improve on their 1-2 home record here. They don’t have the highest hopes for this season, but could overperform if the rest of their rotation can settle down outside of Marcus Stroman.

Prediction
The Cubs have a couple of advantages in this game, namely home field advantage, as well as a more consistent starting pitcher on the mound. As much as I’ve been impressed by how Texas has been playing, they’ve cooled down a bit lately, and have a mismatch here. Chicago’s offense has been solid, but they’ve struggled to keep the opponent from scoring. With Stroman on the mound, they should be able to win it.
