Game Preview
Chicago defeated the Twins in the first game of their series on Monday. They had a strong 4-run 4th inning, and then managed to hold their lead for the remainder of the game. Unfortunately, the win wasn’t fully positive. The White Sox lost leadoff hitter, SS Tim Anderson, to a knee injury. Anderson has hit .317 over the past 4 seasons, and is crucial to their lineup. His injury is day-to-day, which is a fortunate result.

The Twins have now lost their last 2 games after starting 6-2, but will look to get right back on track. They’ve had some up-and-down performances so far this season, sweeping the Royals, losing a series to the Marlins, and then beating the Astros. Minnesota’s pitching has been very solid, but their offense has been less consistent. They’ll need Byron Buxton to continue carrying the bulk of the weight on offense.

Prediction
The White Sox and Twins match up pretty well with each other, as indicated by the close 4-3 game on Monday. For this game, they’ll be a much less even pitching matchup. Chicago will start a struggling Lance Lynn (9.00 ERA), while Minnesota has a red-hot Pablo Lopez (0.73 ERA) taking the mound. Combine that with the Twins home-field advantage, and I feel pretty good about taking them to even the series out here.
