Du Plessis vs. Strickland Preview
Dricus Du Plessis lost the last time in 2018 to Roberto Soldic while he still competed in the KSW. Since then he had 10 wins in a row, with the latest two (Strickland and Adesanya) being the most valuable, as they both were for the title.
The South African is an animal inside the octagon, with him being arguably the strongest guy in the division. He lacks technique, that’s for sure, but on the other hand, his punches are pretty much like Pereira’s when he was a champion. Over the last few years, he learned how to take the battle down to the mat and uses that in the best possible way.
Strickland is the best boxer in the division and one of few who knows how to defend takedowns. Though we didn’t see that from him in the first battle against Du Plessis, he did better in stand-up than the now-champion.
The American has one hell of a cardio and is very determined inside the octagon. He is disciplined, something he learned in the last few years, but we still question his abilities once being on the ground.
Du Plessis vs. Strickland Prediction
We don’t know who wins this one, but we are pretty sure that the bout will go the distance. Du Plessis has KO power, but Strickland knows how to endure his attacks—we saw that.
