The 2025-26 season has been a struggle for the Boston Bruins, but they remain in the hunt for a playoff spot in the Atlantic Division. They come into this round sitting seventh in the Atlantic Division, accumulating an overall record of 22-19-2 this season.
However, their recent struggles have been evident over their last ten, winning on just three occasions and suffering five defeats in regulation. Boston were easily beaten in their latest outing, shipping seven on the road against the Seattle Kraken.
Being back at TD Garden may not be as much of an advantage as they hope. The Bruins have underwhelmed in home games this season, going 12-8-1 in Boston.
The Calgary Flames currently find themselves in a similar position to their opponents this week. They sit seventh in the Pacific Division after going 18-21-4 this season.
Despite producing a run of wins, they have since dropped back in form after losing their last three. They come to Boston less than 24 hours after suffering a 4-1 road defeat against the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday evening.
Being on the road hasn’t suited the Flames this season, as they have struggled for wins. That is reflected by their overall record of 6-14-2. Therefore, they will need to turn a corner in order to get a win at TD Garden on Thursday.
