There will be a fresh feel surrounding the Seattle Kraken this season, as the franchise parted company with Dan Bylsma after the team finished just 13th in the Western Conference last term. Seattle went 35-41-6 in the regular season, and won just 18 of their home games.
Lane Lambert has been tasked with guiding the Kraken into the new season, and there will be hope that a playoff challenge could be within reach. Seattle have added proven NHL stars such as Ryan Lindgren and Matt Murray, but we will likely learn more about their prospects following this clash.
The Anaheim Ducks will also have a new head coach taking charge for the first time this week, as Joel Quenneville was appointed following Greg Cronin’s departure at the end of the previous campaign.
Anaheim finished 12th in the Western Conference last term. That marked the seventh straight season in which they had failed to make the playoffs. However, it is worth noting that the Ducks have been consistent during pre-season, winning four of their seven games.
