The Eagles improved to 2-0 last week in their win over the Vikings. It’s hard to find fault in a 2-0 start, but something could be said about Philadelphia’s inability to prevent potential comebacks on defense. In the opener, they led the Patriots 16-7 with 5 minutes left in the 1st half, but then only won 25-20. In Week 2 they led the Vikings 27-7, before winning the game 34-28. Otherwise, the Eagles have looked elite so far.

Tampa Bay is now sitting at 2-0 on the season, after being projected by many to place 4th in the division. Baker Mayfield has played well in his first two games on the Buccaneers. On Sunday, he completed 26 of 34 passes for 317 yards and a TD. He currently ranks 10th in the NFL in QBR, and will be they key to Tampa Bay’s ability to sustain that success. He’ll have his toughest test so far against the Eagles this week.

Prediction

Based on how the Eagles played their first two games, I’d expect them to jump out to an early lead, before allowing the Buccaneers to creep back into the game. That could be a recipe for disaster on the road against a tough Tampa Bay defense. That being said, the Eagles should still have the advantage in this game. I see Philadelphia getting the road win and improving to 3-0 here, but failing to cover the spread.
