PSG will feel as though they have one foot in the quarterfinals of the Champions League this season after securing a 2-0 home win in their first leg against Real Sociedad. The French side were excellent from start to finish in the first clash between the teams, with Kylian Mbappe opening the scoring, before Bradley Barcola extending that advantage with 20 minutes remaining.

Sociedad were really poor in that opening leg, as they failed to register a single shot on target. Barcelona were the last Spanish side to lose a first leg by a two-goal margin in the Champions League. However, they still managed to progress after securing a 6-1 win in the second leg against PSG. This will be the 10^th time that PSG have taken an advantage into the second leg, but they have only progressed from five previous ties.
